Features to Consider When Buying a Vacuum Cleaner for Seniors

When you are planning to buy a vacuum cleaner for the elderly, you need to consider many crucial factors. Regular heavy vacuum cleaners are not suitable for them. Seniors need something that is easy to use and not hazardous to their health.

Keeping that in mind, we have figured out some important factors for you. Let’s take a look at them –

  • Weight: A few people have a strong physic in their 60s, but that is not the case for majority of them. Scientifically, older people are advised to not carry heavy objects. • Filtration System: A good filtration system prevents dust particles from escaping into the environment. It’s an important factor especially for the seniors as they are more prone to having respiratory diseases.
  • Floor Type: This is an essential point everyone should consider. Not all vacuum cleaners are suitable for every floor type. You need to read the specifics carefully before making any decision.

  1. You should review office chairs and microphones. Probably will get a lot of attention from people who want to improve posture and also improve their setup for videos, etc.

  2. I feel like cleaning the brush roll is part of the maintenance. I’d love to see how well each vacuum brush roll cleans up with pet hair. Like how much pet hair gets stuck on the dyson brush vs shark. Also I know some shark vacuum brush rolls are supposed to be zero maintenance. I’d like the see how well those hold up too vs other brands.

  3. As an owner operator of a vacuum shop, i would love to see some quality units handled. I saw you chose a miele which is a nice start. Try finding some units from Simplicity/Riccar, also Sebo. you mention bags as a recurring cost and filters not so much, but you can only wash filters so many times, and after 6-12 months all that plastic gets scratched up and dull, but with bagged units, everything looks brand new after 12 months.
I would love to see a review of all these vacuums after 6 month of daily use.

  4. Can you talk about water filtration vacuums and if they are worth the investment? I rarely see anyone talk about them or compare them

  5. It would’ve been nice to see all of the vacuums that were tested. For example, did you test the new Shark Vertex Powered Liftaway? I haven’t seen anything work better on pet hair. I’m curious to see how it stacks up against the Dyson Ball Animal 2.
